Here at EdPlace, we mark and track your progress so that you can review your scores at any time. When you complete an activity, it will be automatically marked and you will be awarded a score. The score is calculated based on the total correct answers you have been able to achieve in the activity.
For example, if a student gets 7 questions out of 10 correct, the student will be awarded a score of 70%. If a student gets 9 questions out of 10 correct, the student will be awarded a score of 90%. As shown below:
You can review the number of answers you got correct and your overall score by clicking on the 'Review Answers' button in the view shown above. This can be located within your parent's account in the 'Review completed' tab.
On the app, the score of a completed activity will look like this:
In your student account, you'll notice on the homepage that there is a points total shown in the top, right corner:
This same total will be shown in a slightly different place if you are using one of our apps:
These points operate in a slightly different way to scores and, we feel, give students a more useful view of their progress. When you complete an activity, for every individual element of a question where you answer correctly, you are awarded one point.
For example, within one question, a student may be required to identify three correct spellings. This question would allow a student to earn up to three points, but this would only count as one question in a score (where all elements would need to be correct to be marked as correct overall).
By gaining more points, you can also unlock our student reward badges. To find out more about the student badges, please click here.
Points are also used to create a personal reward that you can request from your parent and work towards. Please click here to find out more about how to do this.
Providing visibility on progress for parents and students is our main goal at EdPlace. We believe that scores help parents understand their child's achievements, whilst points work best for students to understand their own progress and be motivated to keep learning.
