We hope that the recommendations that we, at EdPlace, make for activities to help you improve are usually a pretty good fit for what you need to work on. However, there will be times when you will know best exactly what you need to work on. Perhaps you found a piece of homework particularly tricky or maybe you found something hard in class today - don't worry, when this happens you can find an activity on EdPlace to help you improve so that this topic or skill is an absolute breeze next time you come across it!
Firstly, you will need to have the option to 'Self-assign' turned ON by your parent, teacher or tutor. To see if this is the case, log in to your student account on our website or app and check if you can see the option to 'Browse' under the 'Activities' section:
If you can see this then you're good to go! If not, then please discuss with your parent, teacher or tutor to see if they are happy to turn this feature ON for you in your account. If they need any help to do this or further information, please direct them to click here.
'Self-assign' allows you to assign activities to yourself, giving you the opportunity to pace your own learning, re-try activities for a better score, or practice for a test.

Once you click on the 'Browse' menu, you will find an overview of all subjects in your year group which you currently have access to:
Click on the coloured subject buttons to move between these, and toggle between 'Learn' and 'Revise' based on what you are hoping to achieve. If you choose 'Revise', you can then move between three extra types of activities:
When you find an activity which looks like a good fit, click on the '+ Assign' blue button next to it:
You can check that you are not assigning work which you have already tried by seeing if there is currently a score shown. If not, and it says 'Not Tried' instead, then you know this will be a new activity for you.
Please note, your view will default to your current year group but, if you cannot find what you are looking for, you can take a look in another year group by changing the option in the dropdown:

You can toggle between 'Activities', 'Revision' and 'Assessments' based on the type of work you are looking for. If you choose 'Revision', you can then move between two extra types of activities, 'Exam-style questions' and 'Practice papers':
Please note, if you are browsing in our 11+ or GCSE revision areas, you will also be required to select the exam board view of your choice so be sure to ask your parent, teacher or tutor if you are at all unsure about which to choose.
When you find an activity that looks like it might be a good fit, have a quick read through the Introduction screen. Then you have two options to choose between if you think this is the right activity for you:
If you still cannot find exactly what you need, why not ask your parent, teacher or tutor to log in to their account and use the 'Search' function? If they need your help on how to do this, please get them to click here and read this article.
