We believe that if you can see the progress you are making in your learning, it is easier to stay on track, feel motivated and be proud of your achievements!
For this reason, we offer hundreds of badges across all the years and subjects that are included within EdPlace.
Each badge represents a particular achievement, whether that’s getting a great score on all the activities in a topic or re-trying the same activity to improve your confidence and skills.
When a badge is visible but greyed out, you are working on it. When it becomes coloured then it's been achieved!
Within the apps or on the website, a quick snapshot of your badges will always be shown on your homepage every time you log in:
To view all your badges in more detail, log into your student account on the website (at www.edplace.com/student) and click on 'Badges' in the left-hand menu.
You can see your badges on the app under this icon () but if you want all the info, then the website is the best place to go.
With the exception of bonus badges, all badges will have three possible levels of achievement:
There are four categories of badges to work towards:
These demonstrate mastery of the entire range of activities in a single subject. They’re the hardest to achieve but the most satisfying!
These badges show that you have completed activities that cover an area of the National Curriculum focused on a particular area of knowledge. These can be quite broad so you will probably have to cover a wide range of activities to achieve one.
These badges show that you have completed activities that cover a single topic or skill area.
We don’t want to give too much away about our bonus badges, but we hope they'll provide some bonus recognition when you're least expecting it. They reward steady progress and hard work as well as top marks. You’ll have to unlock them to find out more!
Most badges are specific to the school year you are in, so you could have the same badge in different years. Within your 'Badges' page on our website, you will see there is a dropdown menu in the top right. Your homepage will be the school year you are currently in which has been converted to a level, but if you have been doing work from other years, you can click on this dropdown to see your past badges earned in other years too:
When you earn a badge, you will be notified on your homepage and this record will also be recorded to your Timeline. (To learn more about the student timeline function, please click here.)
We hope this article has provided you with all the information you need to be a badge brainiac!
