So you're ready to get started on your very first activity, are you? Here's everything you will need to know to fly out of the starting blocks! This article should give you the information you need to complete your very first activity and many more to come!
All EdPlace activities follow the same format:
1) An introduction with a written or video tutorial explaining the skills and knowledge you will need to apply;
2) A series of questions which are (usually) automatically marked with explanations provided by real teachers;
3) A summary page showing your score.
Before you start, get logged into your student account via our website or iOS or Android app.
To start an activity on the website, click on the ‘arrow' button next to the activity title in your student dashboard:
If you are using the iOS or Android app, you simply need to click on the name of the activity you want to try.
Now, you will see the Introduction to the activity that will look something like this:
(Please note, if you see a video introduction, you will need to click on the 'play' icon to watch.)
Once you have understood what you need to do, click on the blue 'Start' or 'Start activity' button at the bottom of the page:
You will now be asked a series of questions, based on the skills and knowledge you were introduced to in the Introduction:
You can see your progress through the activity and how far you have left to go using the progress bar at the top of the page:
If you get stuck during your questions, you can click on the toolbar to return to the Introduction or have the question read to you:
Please note, this toolbar is only available on our website, not in our apps, so you may prefer to use the web option if this is important to you. You can also customise what you see on each activity using our 'Accessibility toolbar'. To find out more about this feature, please click here.
When you reach your final answer, you will see a 'Finish' button:
If you have any answers incomplete, you will be alerted at this time. When you confirm that you are sure that you are ready to finish, you will be directed to a final score page:
Website: Apps:
You can see how you got on, with an option to 'Review answers' (web only) or 'Retry activity'. You will also see a list on the right-hand side or below showing which activities you may like to try next.
If want to choose a different next activity, select 'See all to-dos' (on the web) or the X (on the apps) where you will return to your homepage. For more information on how your To Do List works and which activities are assigned to you, please click here.
We do have some types of activities that behave slightly differently. These are usually exam-style questions, practice papers or assessments. For more information on activities of this type, please click here.
We hope that now you have all the information you need to get off to a flying start with EdPlace! If you need any help, ask your parent, teacher or tutor and they can contact us if you are still stuck. You can reach our friendly Customer Support Team via email at help@edplace.com.
