Our teacher account was designed to make managing each student and their assigned workload as seamless as possible. We know it's likely that students will leave your class at the end of the school year (sad times!) and potentially even during the term, meaning you will need to transfer their data and ownership to other colleagues.
To do this, first, log into your teacher account at www.edplace.com/teacher.
To manage your linked class accounts, click on the 'Manage group' tab in the left-hand menu of your dashboard.
You will see a checkbox on the right which allows you to view inactive groups or the whole school. Below this you will see the group which this demo teacher has ownership of (Year 1 Science):
To change ownership of an entire group of students, click the arrow next to 'You' and select the teacher you wish to reassign the group to. You will then be prompted to confirm you wish to change ownership:
After selecting 'Yes' the group will disappear from your screen. However, if you then select 'Whole School', you will be able to view each group in the school and who has ownership of them:
Please note, the teacher which 'owns' a group of students has the privilege to manage and change their personal settings. To learn more about this, please click here.
To transfer individual students, click on the 'Manage students' tab in the left-hand column. Click the '+' sign to the right of the relevant year or group of the student you wish the transfer over (depending on your chosen view). You will then be able to view all students you 'own' in one of your classes:
To transfer an individual student to a colleague, select the drop-down arrow next to their name and select the name of the new teacher who will oversee their learning journey going forward.
Hopefully, you now understand the tools you have available to manage your classes and transfer ownership to the relevant teacher when necessary. But, don't worry, all student work and progress will be maintained forever so, if a student returns to your class, everything will be ready for them to pick up where they left off.
