We’re a big believer in using new technology to enrich education, however, there are times when nothing will beat the 'good-old' pen and paper. This can be especially helpful if one of your students is going away on holiday or will have limited access to the internet, as well as for particular activities which may favour being written (e.g. in English). So great news - if you have a paid teacher or tutor subscription, almost all of our activities can be printed!
Some of our activities (namely assessments and some revision activities) are designed to be dynamic, which means that they change each time that a student logs in. For this reason, they cannot be printed as we only offer this option on static activities. Also, all EdPlace assessments are linked to a personalised, downloadable PDF report with a timed criteria, so these must be completed online.
To print an activity, log into your educator account at www.edplace.com/teacher and click onto the 'Browse' tab in the left-hand menu of your dashboard.
Navigate to the year group, subject, topic and activity which you wish to print.
Click on the title of the activity to load the preview screen, then scroll down to 'Print activity' in blue.
Once you click on this, a PDF version of the activity will load which you can then follow the steps to print as usual on your device and PDF program.
To open our printable activities, you'll need to have a PDF viewer installed on your computer. Most computers have this pre-installed, but if you don't go to http://get.adobe.com/reader/ to download a free version. Please note, activities can only be printed from our website, not using a student account on one of our apps.
We want to reinforce, EdPlace is designed to be an online platform so we recommend that the best experience is for your students to complete the vast majority of their activities online. Many of the features, such as timers, reading aloud, smart recommendations and SEND customisation, cannot be applied to a printed activity and paper-based activities will not be automatically marked with teacher explanations. Some of the activities (particularly those with many images) may display slightly strangely on the printed page, again because they were designed for completion online, and no student performance data will be tracked. Please do bear these limitations in mind and limit printing to only those situations when you really require an offline solution.
