Great question! We know that if you have worked hard and completed an activity, this may seem a little unfair. But, bear with us, and let us explain how this is really a great opportunity to show yourself (plus your parent, teacher or tutor) that you've really nailed this tricky concept.
As you know, every time you complete an activity, your work is automatically marked and you are presented immediately with your score and points achieved. The only exception to this is when an activity requires manual marking by your parent, teacher or tutor; but this is usually only the case in some English activities and practice papers.
We are really proud of our smart recommendations so if you would like to find out more about how they work, please click here to read an article on this topic. In a nutshell, if you have recommendations switched ON, we will assign you activities which we think are a good fit for you based on your age and recent performance on EdPlace.
Another great feature of our recommendations is the reassign function. This means that we will automatically reassign an activity to you if you have not achieved the required mastery score of 70% or above. This means that you have another chance to show-what-you-know on this topic and develop confidence in a skill that you may have initially found challenging.
If you would prefer to only be assigned work by your parent, teacher, tutor or yourself, please ask your linked adult to login to their account and turn recommendations off for you. Click here for an article you can share with them explaining how to do this.
All activities which have been assigned to you by us will be clearly identified in your student account under the 'Recommended' section of your To Do List:
Website: Apps:
Activities which have been assigned by your parent, tutor, teacher or yourself will appear under 'Assigned', whilst any activities which have been started but not yet finished will appear under the heading 'In progress'.
We hope that this article explains why seeing an activity reassigned to you is nothing to worry about - it's just a second chance to brush up on those skills and really get a trickier concept clear in your mind. Think of it as a great opportunity to show off your learning to yourself and others!
