Providing visibility on your child's progress, so that you can give them the help and support they need, is the fundamental mission of Team EdPlace. One of the huge benefits of using an online learning tool is that every element of student performance is tracked, measured and recorded so that you can clearly see your child improving, plus use our insights to inform when and where they need additional support.
Before we get started, you will need to login to your parent account on our website at www.edplace.com/parent or using our parent iOS or Android app.
On your parent dashboard homepage on our website or apps, you can see an ‘at a glance’ snapshot of each child's progress linked to your parent account, with a listing of the number of completed and assigned activities, plus their current average score, key settings and rewards:
Website: App:
If you have more than one child, you can scroll down to see each one on the website or toggle between them in the top blue border on the app.
Please note: you can click on any of the buttons next to these numbers (show in the image above) on the website only to hot-link quickly to more detailed information. So, for example, selecting the 'View assigned' button for Eddie 1, presents a full list of the activities currently assigned to him to amend as appropriate.
To see the most detailed level of analytics, click on 'Scores' in the left-hand menu of your dashboard on the website, or the 'Progress' icon in the bottom border of the apps. You will be directed to an overview page for the first child linked to your account (if you have more than one) which will look like one of the variations below:
Website: App:
Please note: on the apps we also offer an option to filter dates using the drop-down option located in the upper centre, just under the dark blue border. In the view above, it is showing the default date range of 'last 7 days'.
In this general overview page, you will also see a summary of the student's best performing topic areas and those requiring more focus, which you can use for guidance when assigning work:
Website: App:
Clicking on any one of the subject titles will redirect you to an overview for that specific subject:
Please note: this option is only available on the parent account via our website.
Clicking on one of the topic titles in this view will also show you how many activities have been completed in this given area.
If you would like to download activity or assessment data into a CSV, take a look at this article!
We also offer a weekly progress report which is sent directly to you via email. If you have opted to receive this, you will see this option turned ON in your 'Notifications' tab:
Please note: this option is only visible or editable on the parent account via our website.
If you have selected the option to receive a weekly progress report on your child, this will be sent to you every Friday when your child has completed a minimum of 5 activities in the last 7 days. This report will summarise your child's total activities completed this week, and whether this is up or down on the previous week. It will also show you their current average scores for each subject and whether their overall average has increased or decreased from last week. Finally, it will let you know their top-performing topic of the week (highest scoring) and the one which they found most challenging (lowest scoring). If you don't have the time to log in to your parent account on a regular basis, this report will give you all the key info you need to stay informed about how your child is getting on!
You can use all of this data to understand how your child is getting on, where they need more support, and give them a huge "Well done!" for all their achievements. You may find it particularly helpful to assign and complete benchmark assessments at regular intervals (e.g. every half term or term) to be able to see progress over a given period even more clearly.
