Providing visibility on student progress, so that they can get the help and support they need, is the fundamental mission of Team EdPlace. One of the huge benefits of using an online learning tool is that every element of student performance is tracked, measured and recorded so that you can demonstrate improvements to students and parents, plus use these insights to inform future learning needs.
Before we get started, you will need to login to your tutor account at www.edplace.com/teacher.
On your tutor dashboard homepage, you can see an ‘at a glance’ update on each student's progress, with a listing of the number of completed and assigned activities, plus the current average score in each subject:
Please note, that you can click on any of these numbers to hot-link to a more detailed list for this specific student. So, for example, if I was to click on the number '3' under 'Assigned' for Eva, I could see a full list of the activities currently assigned to her so I could amend as needed. You can also see exact dates for activity completions here, which can be helpful If you are reviewing work which was set for completion at home or otherwise outside of tutoring sessions.
To see the most detailed level of analytics, click on 'Scores' in the left-hand menu of your dashboard. You will be directed to an overview page for your first student which will look like a variation of this:
In this general overview page, you will also see a summary of the student's best performing areas and those requiring most attention which you can use to target your tutoring support:
Clicking on any one of the subject titles will redirect to an overview for that specific subject:
Clicking on one of the topic titles in this view will also show you how many activities have been completed in this given area.
A dropdown filter is provided in the top, right corner of this page so that you can move between different students' analytics:
You will see the focus student's name clearly displayed in the top, left corner to avoid any confusion.
You can use all this data as a tutor to understand what your student needs to focus on next and to share progress with families. You may find it particularly helpful to assign and complete benchmark assessments at regular intervals (e.g. every half term or term) to be able to show progress over a given period even more clearly.
