Yes! EdPlace is fully aligned with the English National Curriculum; our English, maths and science activities cover every topic your child will learn in school from Key Stages 1-4. We also focus on offering support at key milestones such as the SATs and GCSEs.
How has EdPlace been designed?
Our mission has always been to help children be successful at school, so it was natural that our system was designed around the National Curriculum. All our activities are categorised by Curriculum Topics and Curriculum Skills, taking their terminology, methods explored and location directly from the National Curriculum. Our parent-friendly Topics tags have been created to link these National Curriculum Topics and Skills definitions to the more common terms that we all have greater familiarity with. This approach ensures that you can be totally confident that all our activities link to the National Curriculum but they can also be located and assigned to your child in the most user-friendly way.
How does EdPlace maintain relevance?
A new English National Curriculum was introduced in September 2014, with full adoption required in all subjects by September 2016. In preparation for this, we invested heavily to re-categorise all our activities to match these changes. This means that we ‘moved’ some existing activities to different years, updated our labelling and created new activities to meet new expectations. Overall, this means even better and more accessible overviews of the curriculum when you are looking for new activities to assign to your child. We will also continue to do this moving forward as new changes are unveiled, alongside an annual review of all activities to check for any evolution in language, expectations or methods.

What does this mean for your child?
Therefore, as an EdPlace parent, you can have total confidence that all the activities your child does on EdPlace will directly link to and help them to be successful at school.
At EdPlace, our levels (1, 2 and 3) are still based on the degree of difficulty. Where one topic can be broken down into levels, our teachers have created three separate activities on that same topic so your child can work progressively through a series of skills.
Many of the Curriculum Topics are available as badges in bronze, silver and gold. Once your child has completed all activities in a Curriculum Topic, they will be awarded a bronze badge if they reach an average score of 70%, a silver badge for 80% and the gold badge for 90%. Our Topics tags are also ‘badgeable’ too:
Sharpened Topic Tags
We’ve re-grouped many of our Topic Tags so they are even simpler to approach, understand and locate. At any time, you can click to see where these Tags fit into the new curriculum. This means you can easily search words such as ‘Magnets’, ‘Punctuation’ or perhaps ‘Multiplication’ to find all the worksheets that cover these areas.
At EdPlace, our mission is to provide the best possible support to children and parents at home, which exactly aligns with what will be taught at school. So, you can relax and have confidence that everything your child learns and practises on EdPlace will be fully aligned to the English National Curriculum. If you need any further help with this or have any questions or suggestions, please contact our friendly Customer Support Team via email at firstname.lastname@example.org - we are here to help you get the most out of using EdPlace!
